Les Moulins du Villars, an exceptional Provencal estate located in the hinterland of Nice, offered for sale by Peter Illovsky for the Private Desk of Côte d'Azur Sotheby's International Realty.

Listed at 11.5 million euros, this luxurious historic property was once the little corner of paradise of Grace Kelly who liked to escape there. Located in Gilette, a pretty Provençal village about 45 minutes from Nice, Les Moulins du Villars were originally a collection of mills built on the banks of the Estéron, some of which date from the 14th century.

In the 1970s, Count Jean Fernand Joseph Gouin de Roumilly renovated the original buildings and transformed the estate into a center of high society.

In the early 1990s new owners restored the stone walls of the property and in 2010 the current owners commissioned a full renovation of the main villa which was a former olive oil mill, retaining only the exterior walls.

Today, Les Moulins du Villars spreads over more than 600 m2, connected by lift on four floors: with seven bedrooms, two kitchens and a multimedia room, the residence has vast living spaces and a dining room connected by an old mill wheel encased in glass.

The estate also has several outbuildings including a two-room guest house, a four-car garage, a large greenhouse, the sanctuary, a semi-restored ruin dating from ancient Rome used for parties and other events.
