Real estate report 2021/ Sotheby’s International Realty France – Monaco: An exceptional year.

Alexander Kraft, Chairman - Managing Director of Sotheby's International Realty France - Monaco, announced his assessments for 2021 a few days ago.

In summary :
Despite the health context due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the Sotheby's International Realty France - Monaco network had an exceptional year, far exceeding 2020, which was itself a record year.
It is therefore more than 1000 prestigious sales that have been concluded by the group of luxury real estate agencies Sotheby's International Realty France - Monaco (a 42% increase compared to 2020) with an average price of 1.45 million euros, for a total sales volume of more than 1.456 billion euros.
Alexander Kraft explains that all markets have been concerned by this success, especially following the successive confinements which have led the French people to work from home with a desire to improve their immediate environment, as well as to become buyers of second homes.

The trend was therefore as follows:
• A change of main residence for a more spacious property, quieter or with a garden or a terrace.
• The purchase of a second home as an investment, real estate remaining a safe haven. The acquisition of a second home to telecommute.
• The change of life that involves a new property purchase in a different area, either in the countryside, or by the sea, etc.

Among the 70 agencies of the network - Côte d'Azur Sotheby's International Realty has also noted a significant increase in activity, and the whole group is now observing the return of foreign buyers, mostly European for the moment, even if the Americans are now resuming contact.
Among the record sales of 2021, Côte d'Azur Sotheby's International Realty - with its 4 agencies located in Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Beaulieu sur Mer and Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, and soon the opening of an agency in Nice - highlights the following sales :
• Between 10 and 15 million euros, a waterfront house in Ramatuelle
• Between 10 and 15 million euros, a country house in the Parcs de Saint-Tropez
• Around 10 million euros, a property in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin
• Between 7 and 10 million euros, a penthouse with private swimming pool, waterfront, in Nice, at the Palais Maeterlinck
