Karl Lagerfeld: the sale of his collections by Sotheby’s auction house

It was only natural that Sotheby’s was chosen by the administration of Karl Lagerfeld to sell its collections in its residences in Paris, Louveciennes, Provence and Monaco.

The collection auction will take place during the second half of 2021 in Monaco, which "will underline the couturier's strong link with the Principality and the Sovereign Family" said Pierre Mothes, vice-president of Sotheby’s France.

“The sale will pay tribute to this immense designer, a key figure in fashion and the arts,” announces Pierre Mothes.

In 2003, Sotheby's supervised the last auction held during Karl Lagerfeld’s lifetime, devoted to his collection of Art Deco furniture and objects, bringing in more than 7 million euros.

The sale's inventory will include furniture, design and artwork, which should delight investors looking for diversification.
