The Belle-Epoque of the French-Riviera

"Belle-Époque" is a term adopted after the First World War to designate a certain "French way of life", including sociological, political, economic and technological progress.

From the end of the 19th century (1860) to the First World War (1914), the "Belle Epoque" era had a major impact on architecture, mainly on the French Riviera: indeed, some impressive properties were built with the massive arrival of an aristocratic clientele (often English and Russian) on the Côte d'Azur.

These prestigious Palaces are today the witnesses of a bygone era reputed throughout the world, proposing new decorations, ornaments, facades and roofs whose characteristics are specific to the "Belle-Epoque" buildings of the French Riviera.
Many of these palaces and majestic mansions are now part of the public domain (such as the Bonnard Museum at Le Cannet, or the Villa Domergue in Cannes - listed as a Historic Monument that has been awarded "Heritage of the 20th century" label. "). They have remained luxurious hotels (The Majestic, Splendid Hotel, Carlton (for example)) or have become luxurious condominiums (La Villa Kazbek, Le Rouve, Le Gallia, Le Bellevue Palace, Le Palais Beau Site, or Le Californie).
