Mougins

Mougins, a jewel in the hinterlands of Cannes.

This picturesque medieval village located 15 minutes from the sea, stands on top of a hill from the pre-Roman period, and offers at the top of its 260 meters a breathtaking panorama : In addition to the sumptuous bay of Cannes enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding hills, the Lerins Islands, the Alps, and the forest park of the Valmasque.

A provencal village by excellence, in the time it takes to stroll through the village fall for the charm of its narrow streets, the multitude of colorful flowers, Mediterranean plants adorning the gardens and popular squares, 19 fountains and wash houses of yesteryear. The village is full of beautiful old houses, magnificently restored with authenticity: stone walls, heavy solid wooden doors and wrought iron, delightfully flowered windows ... So many details which have participated in the indisputable cultural fame of Mougins: its landscapes and its soft provençale light have attracted many artists, such as Pablo Picasso, Fernand Leger, Emmanuel Radinsky - aka Man Ray and Jean Cocteau. The place liberates a sweet love of life, and Mougins has been the bucolic interlude of numerous personalities: Winston Churchill, Christian Dior, Catherine Deneuve, to Yves Saint Laurent, Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel…etc

From these close links with the art world, Mougins possesses many museums, galleries and art studios, including the Classic Art Museum of Mougins (MACM) which offers a private collection unique in the world, which displays the paintings from Picasso, Andy Warhol, Rodin, Cezanne or Dali.

One of the favorite destinations for gourmets, Mougins offers renowned institutions such as: the Amandier, Moulins de Mougins, Table de Mougins, Mas Candille, La Paloma...

Has been organizing since 2006 the Festival of Gastronomy "The stars of Mougins" and is now an international event that Mougins prepares annually, where the greatest chefs in the world gather to share their passion with the public.
